I have given many seminars at a variety of venues over the past ten years, but yesterday was a new one for me and I wanted to drop you a line and tell you about it. I’m fortunate to have permission to fish the Milwaukee River on the property of a private club. I catch a lot of smallmouth bass on the Teeny Wee Craw on that water. Some time ago the club manager asked me if I’d come out for an hour or two and do a fishing outing for the “Kids Camp” they were conducting.
First, the kids were mostly 3 to 5 years old. I enthusiastically said yes, but then began wondering how it would go. This isn’t a farm pond where we could use bobbers and worms -- it’s a river situation with smallmouth bass.
Anyway, it turned out great and the kids and I had a blast. They weren’t too interested in hearing a little about the smallmouth bass or what we were going to use, but they loved reeling in the fish after I’d hooked them. As you can see in the pictures we were using the Rebel Teeny Wee-Crawfish and we caught a bunch of fish. The kids had a blast and most of them got to “catch” a smallie.
I thought you’d get a kick out of seeing the pictures. Oh yeah, another thing happened that had never happened at one of my seminars. As we walked down to the river one of the little girls, Molly, asked to hold my hand! It was one of the best seminars I’ve ever taken part in.

William "Bill" Schultz is a Wisconsin angler with a deep love for catching river smallmouth bass. Over the years he's caught and released more than 5,000 smallies on the Teeny Wee Craw from the rivers of his home state.

Editor's note: The Teeny Wee Crawfish is the smallest of Rebel’s family of extremely realistic crawfish crankbaits. The Teeny Wee Crawfish runs 2 to 3 feet deep, and its companion bait, the Deep Teeny Wee, runs up to 5 feet deep. The larger sizes, the Wee-Crawfish, Deep Wee and Big Craw, run deeper (Big Craw and Deep Wee run to 10 feet; Wee-Crawfish to 7 feet). All of Rebel’s Crawfish crankbaits come in a variety of color patterns to match any water condition. Best of all, these crankbaits are known to catch all species of fish, from bass to trout to panfish to walleyes.
